incodius (in-co-dee-us)

1. adjective: having attributes not normally associated with code

2. proper noun: a web development company based in Lyttelton, New Zealand, established in 2009

Incodius™ directors Kate O'Brien and Rita Langley both come from backgrounds that include art and design, and began Incodius™ after discovering their exceptional skills at coding great websites while studying web development at Natcoll. Incodius™ was launched while the two were still completing the course, and has been expanding ever since.

As well as a diploma in web development, Kate has a diploma in Fine Arts from the Design and Arts College. She also studied interactive design, and her extensive knowledge of Flash and usability theory combines well with the PHP/JavaScript/HTML/CSS experience gained from web development studies.

Rita studied design at Massey Design School, before completing a BA with first-class honors in art history at Victoria University. Having worked as a content specialist researching and writing for web, Rita has travelled internationally to create articles for websites, but finds herself as much at home writing code or scribbling up new designs in Photoshop.

Incodius™ also makes use of a dynamic team of experienced professionals, who we call on when we need to add an extra level of polish to a website. Our regular external team includes a professional editor with more than eight years of proof-reading experience, an excellent photographer based in Christchurch whose images are sure to top any that we can take, and an expert software/web application tester whose insights and 'fresh eyes' ensure that what we create is both idiot-proof and expert-proof. We play well with others, so when a project comes up that extends beyond what we can provide in-house, we make new friends to help us get the job done right.
